Sometimes people get confused between licencing and registering a vehicle.
A motor vehicle is registered once, usually when it is first imported into New Zealand. If you own a motor vehicle that you use on public roads, you must renew your vehicle licence at least annually , you must renew their vehicle licence at least annually — this is often called ‘rego’.
