A new Land Transport Rule has been released for public consultation today.
The draft speed limit rule aims to deliver on the Government's commitment to reverse the previous government's blanket speed limit reductions, while ensuring that when speed limits are set, economic impacts - including travel times - and the views of road users are taken into account, alongside safety.
The draft rule will enable new and existing Roads of National Significance that are built and maintained to safely accomodate that speed.
