Consultation opens on draft second Emissions Reduction Plan

Consultation on the draft second Emissions Reduction Plan (ERP2) has opened today. 

The draft ERP2 outlines(external link) the actions and policies to reduce emissions produced by the energy, transport, agriculture and waste sectors. This includes a transport chapter, which we encourage you to consider. 

The discussion document contains five summary questions that will provide the Government with some important information about what New Zealanders think about the proposals. People are encouraged to share their knowledge and perspectives on the discussion document.

There are several ways people can have their say on the proposals:

·       By joining events and hui online for different groups. This includes an online transport information session. Please register for the transport information session on the Ministry for the Environment website(external link)

·       By learning more about and registering for additional online events and hui on the Ministry for the Environment' website(external link). 

·       By filling out the submission form(external link) on the Ministry for the Environment’s website

·       By emailing your submission to the Ministry for the Environment at erpconsultation@mfe.govt.nz
