Additional licence (based on RUC Types chosen above)

An additional licence must cover the weight between the RUC vehicle's maximum allowable mass under section 4.5(1) of Part 1 of the VDAM Rule 2002, and the maximum mass specified in the permit under which the RUC vehicle is operating. This option is likely to suit vehicles generally used within standard distance licence weight limits, but occasionally used to carry overweight loads.

H Licences

An “H vehicle” licence allows a vehicle to carry weights up to the maximum weight of the vehicle's overweight permit at all times. This option is likely to suit vehicles being used to regularly carry overweight loads.
