Public Private Partnership for the Transmission Gully project

In November 2012, the government confirmed that it had approved a request by the NZ Transport Agency to proceed with the procurement of the Transmission Gully project through a Public Private Partnership (PPP).

The NZ Transport Agency has now moved to next stage of procurement. Subject to final borrowing approval, a PPP contract is expected to be awarded in mid-2014. Construction would begin in late 2014, and the highway would open for traffic by 2020.
